Some crazy lights. Oh and some poker too

Green Lasers FTW.

So I played at Stanleys on Friday. Get really bored and end up playing blind, as I'm so bored. Look on the river and I have 6 high, so fire my last chips and GazWalker calls with bottom pair. FML. Play cash at 25-50 and play good solid poker and finish up £75. No real hands of note, tho.

Share a ride down to Leeds with Farmer Dave, Pads and SamJ for the £20-£20, £2k added. After a nice meal at TGI Fridays, where everyting seems to have Jack Daniels in/on it, we go start the game, Btw, the cup final is on and we happen to miss every goal, as we are away from the TV for just that brief period of time. Really wanted Everton to win.

On a starting table with Apokerlypse and Nutflush off the forum. Can't get away from them. Really funny as we have a guy trying to be the table captain but he has no chips. Anyway, lose my 1st buyin when I have AhAc UTG, raise 200 at 25-50 and get 3 callers, including Ross (NF) out of the BB. Flop is Kh5h2h, I bet 650 and get a call then a check raise by Ross to 2250. I shove, as I have the Ah and get 2 callers who have 9h7h and Ross, who had warned me he had called with crap pre, with Qh3h. I brick. FML.

I nicely build my stack up and run a nice float play OOP when I know the guy has sweet FA. But lose some back and have 7700 at the break, when the stacks are 5000+5000. Not good.

Back from the break, I'm up and down like a yoyo. Win a small pot and then folds to my button where I have AQo and raise to have the SB shove. I'm priced in to call with any 2 and she flips over 55. I miss. I think this is a bad play as I'm calling whatever I have and most likely have 2 overs or she's crushed, but whatever.

I then double up through Mac when I limp with A-10 and flop comes 10-8-10. I bet the flop on the button and he thinks I'm at it so puts me in with 66 and I hold. Then lose a bit including shoving late position with AJ, called by KQ. He makes a house.

Lose most of my chips when I check my option on the BB with 94o, with 2 limpers. Flop is 9d8d88h. I hear somebody groan, so I know 1 8 is gone, and over shove the pot, 7k into 3k. 1 limper snaps with 33, WTF. Other guy calls with 10d7d. I'm 37% vs 8% vs 55%. turn is 7, River 10. FML. I now have 1400 in the SB, blinds are 500-1000. I find 9s8s and put it in against SamJ's 66 and brick.

General consensus from the lads was that the play was horrible and I wholeheartedly agree. People limping when they have 3bbs, so so bad.

Play 50p-£1 cash whilst I wait for the others still in the tourney, SamJ, Nutflush and IrishAndy doing well. Not mush of note except I miss with AK everytime and pass 22 to a preflop shove and would have made quads.

I do raise with QdJd pre and flop a flush and get 3 streets of value from somebody who turns 2 pair. I them limp in the SB with 94o and flop is Ad9d4x, so I bet £2, get called and a raise of £12, which we both call. Turn is an offsuit 5, Player is all in for £30, other goes in for £100. I tank and pass. 1st has Ax, second has 5d3d. I hold. FML.

Finish up when FT starts and SamJ is on there, make a nice profit of £150. SAm crushes the table, only needing to get lucky once. Standing on the rail with Pads, IrishAndy, Farmer Dave and Full Tilit and have an awesome time, with some great craic. SamJ chops heads up and treats the car to a McDonalds. Nick work Big Bird!

Ah! Twins. Oh and GUKPT week

Start on the Monday of GUKPT week with some £1-£1 cash. Sit with £60 and with some help from a Mr Miyagi wannabee, I am up to about £220. However I then lose a big pot, and go on tilt. So I raise to £5 blind, get reraised to £15 and call. Flop comes 7x-3d-2d. I look down at Jd7d and I don't run like Durrr and I don't crack Aces. End the night down 2 buy ins. See a hand between Geremi and Carlo Citrone, who had raised pre. Flop is As-Js-Xx. Bet and a call. Turn and river are both spades. Citrone calls a bet from Geremi with A-10, no spades, and is good as Geremi is trying to value bet A-3, no spades. Lol.

Tuesday I decide to shortstack £5-£5 and I'm on a sick table with Glen Ashworth, rivermanl (number 1 online MTT player in the UK), Paul "Action" Jackson and some big regulars. Lose my 2nd buy in with 2 overs and a flush draw. FML.

On Wednesday, I go play at the Stanleys tournament and do shit. Play Blind Mans Bluff and run so bad. I had Gary drawing to 3 outs when the money goes in, he hits on the river. Pads plays so bad, yet sucks out on me so many times. Anyway, go to Grov and run like shit. Also get pissed off when a guy forces me to show my hand eventhough he had the straight and he knew he was good. Especially annoying as I was all in. Then a guy puts in a £100 preflop with 88 when I limp- reraise UTG. 1st card out is an 8. FML. Drop £220 at £1-£1. FML!!!!!Feel a little better when I see Spoona scoop on roulette after feeding the touch bet. Though I do see rivermanl drop £1200 at the same time on the same table.

Give Thursday a miss and just watch it on nutz.tv. Go in on Friday after work, and rail for a while. I officially become rivermanl's drug dealer as he wants some headache tablets and I try and get him some. Hayley (who along with the other local valets, had been awesome all week) gets him some. Also get Sam Trickett's phone number, so that put me up to Balla status. It was because I liked his hat and he might hook me up.

Play the UFC throughout the day and it's so much fun, just standing and striking and knocking people out.

On Saturday, venture in to watch the Heineken Cup (Rugby). Tense game and Leicester were unlucky. I see Mark Trett go out after playing a monster game. He flops a set and loses to a flush and my heart drops straight through my body, really feel for him, he's a top lad. After going to Farmer Dave's house, we come back to watch the UFC. I lose £200 on £1-£1, making moves at the right time, but against ppl who won't fold, so in essence I play shit. FML!

Only interested in the last fight, Rashad Evans vs Lyoto Machida, who is my favourite fighter. He crushes Evans who has a weird spasm fall when he gets knocked out in the 2nd round. So brutal.

On sunday I feel like taking a shot at the £100 bounty game, so I buy in and am a bit dissapointed to find out that there are only about 50 runners, Oh well, still worth taking down. Doesn't happen. Lose a huge hand where I actually lose 2 coin flips in 1 hand:

Blinds are 300/600/50, and I shove 5200 with AKo UTG. Player B shoves for 4300. Button tanks and then flips a coin to make a decision and it lands on call. Mark Trett calls for value. Player B has AhJh, button has JdJc and Mark has Js2s. So if I hit, I'm golden and looking at £75 worth of bounty goodness. But I miss, and the guy who should have been out about 3 times, scoops £50 and a load of chips. I'm out the next hand when I'm all in next hand.

So, all in all a shitty week and I'm down about £800. I know what Rashad Evans feels like, but my pain lasted a lot longer.....

Some sweet watches. Oh, and some poker

Photobucket

Anyone know where I can get one?

Some really great watches of this list. However, winning the GUKPT won't cover the cost of some:

http://www.gqmagazine.co.uk/fashion/watches/slideshows/090205-the-84-best-watches-in-the-world.aspx?page=1

Back to poker. On sunday 10th, go out with friends and end up passing through Aspers and see a soft 1-2 game, sit down hammered and make £220. They were so easy.

End up leaving with Micheal Tedder, who was paid in 2 £1000 packs of £10 notes, he gets the great idea to change them at Grov, as he's too balla for £10 notes, lol. After being slowrolled by Mr Chan, he sits with £2k on roulette, plays a bit then leaves. However, when he comes to cash out, manager comes over and says we are gonna pay you in £10 notes. Instead of just saying we will do it this time, but don't try it again, he was just a dick. Oh well.

I chop 4 ways at Stanleys on tuesday and get £270. Not much of note, just 2 hands. Have a good stack with 2 tables left and reraise with KK, get shipped on by a 3rd player and call. He has AJ, raiser had the same, as he shows.Bang, 1st card out is an Ace. Spoona screws my Kings again. Now short, in BB a few laps later, get raised by the button. Shove by SB, I see AQo and think its a steal/resteal and call off my chips. Button calls with KQ, and SB has A5 and I hold.

Play the tourney at Grov on weds.I lose with AsQs vs JJ. Flop the nut flush draw too.
I then play cash, lose buzz’s stack. Raise with 10s, get reraised by Az, Ridla calls, Gottilt ships. I should shove, but instead call the extra £10. Shove on a 2-3-5 flop. Called by Az's K4, K on the turn. FML. Tho Neil made me feel better, when he said he would have played it the same.

I make it back when I shove with 4-2 vs AK. 2 1st card out. Az raises, GazWalker flats, Mike Tedder makes it 11, i shove. I think Mike could be squeezing, so I would do that with a lot, just happened to be 4 high.

Then play DC, make a little bit. Last hand is sick, I have As-2s-3x-4s-7d-Kh-Kd and limp, reraise to £12, Az and Barearse call. Flop is KQ5, we get it all in. Turn 10 river J, we all chop with broadway. If the board pairs I scoop.

Best Burger Ever. Oh and some NPF Birthday action.

Might be the ad too:

To think she used to go out with Salman Rushdie. WTF?

Anyway back to poker and what was the NPF's 1st birthday and to celebrate a tourney and awards do was held on Saturday the 9th May.

I have a sick starting table: from seat 1 Sickasfck, the geek, stumpy (with bodyguard Mrs Stumpy),Avkid, Mr E, neilb (at the time, now known as hiloyeah?), Cazmac (later Mark Trett) Russ the Suit, me. Seat 10 was supposed to b NRH but he overslept, lol, having played cash till 12.30.

Weird hand involving Geek and Mr E. Glen raises to 600 and is reraised to 1600. Geek checks blind and Mr E checks on Qx10cXc flop. Geek bets 2k (Putting Mr E allin)dark before the turn when Qc falls, Giving away he has a pretty big hand. Lol as Mr E passes AcKs, Glen has a house, pocket 10s, and has him drawing dead. He could have seen the turn, checked and let Mr E (what he thinks is a)semi-bluff or hit on the river. Well Done to Mr E for FTing from that.

I go out on a steal shove, ffs.

I play some dealers choice and lose £40 in 2 hands. Raise with Ac-Ad-4d-4h-Qc-7c. Flop is Kc-9x-4c. Get it all in but some1 has KK and I lose. Then value shove call my last £15 with 4h-5h-5s-7s-9c-10c. Flop the nuts but lose to Aces full as the board runs 4-6-3-6-A.

Me and Pads go over to the Grosvenor to play some regular NLH. I make some profit and also play "What does Johnny Lodden think?". A great game I saw on TV and involved many ppl including Paddy, Odin, Scotty, GazWalker, Jack, Gottilt4, Ridla, Varzee, Alan the Bradford dealer.

This is how it works: You and your "betting rival" pick a person ( Say John) and ask them a question where the answer is a number. Eg/ How long is the River Tyne? You are betting on what John will say the answer is, as opposed to what the correct answer may be. So I would suggest something like 15 miles and over, then if my br thinks its over as well, he sets a new number, eg 35 miles and over and this keeps going until we get to a number where 1 person wants the over, and the other wants the under. Whoever is on the right side of the line gets the money.

Some good questions: How often is goldfoxdom on redtube? How many people played this game tonight? How old is Singh? Loads more too.

Take my £1.50 onto roulette and turn it into £30 with 10 and 20. Literally just throw the chips on and they land good. One of my "numbers" 29 then comes in, but I have no money on it, lol.

Who knew unbelievably high levels of cruelty could be so funny. Oh and Poker too

This is brilliant:

Some poker updates:

Play on the Friday night before the forum birthday game. After blowing out of the tournament in Stanleys (It was such a boring table that nobody took a addon before the break. Nobody got felted. WTF!?!?), I go over to the Grov to play some cash.

Lose my 1st buyin against Odin when I have JJ and he flops an UDSD with 7-5 and hits. I then lose again to him when he cracks my Aces. Flor comes J high, he calls. Turn is 7h, making flushs and straights, but I have the Ah, so check raise all in. He has J7, so he calls. River is Jh, making my flush, but he has a house. We end up playing 4 handed with a choice of PLO/NLH. Whoever had the button had the choice. It was me, Odin, NRH and Danutz. I manage to claw my way back to even(ish) when we finish 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Then I go looking for a baseball cap in Toon and have no luck and end up going to sleep for about 2 1/2 hours before the forum game. Will post updates of a great night very soon.

A few days where I wouldn't have even been able to catch Swine Flu!

On 2nd May, I play the Omaha tournament at Circus, something I had been looking forward to. Anyway I play like shit, limping a lot as its a short handed table with nobody passing preflop if they have ANY money already in. Not at all like I'm used to on the internet. Anyway never get going and go out when I raise with Kc-Kd-Qc-8d. Flop a flush draw on an A high board, shove, get called by A-10-5-4 no suits by some1 who admitted they were new to the game. Play cash, get unlucky, donk, then we decide to add Omaha to the mix. I double through Pads when I raise with K-Q-J-10 double suited. Flop is Jh-Jx-7h. Bet and Pads is the only caller. Turn is 10h. I shove, he calls with Ah-Kh-Qh-4d(!). Not sure what he's doing there, cos if he hits his flush, it's hard for him to get paid when he has the 3 big hearts. I then let Laker play my stack and he turns my 80 into 260, which includes this awesome hand:

on a K-2-4 flop, he gets the money in with bottom 2 against top set and Zaffer's flush draw. He hits an offsuit 3 for the whell and then fades 1/2 the deck whilst I'm jumping for joy behind him. See Hatton gets his ass handed to him by Pacquio. Shame really as I like him and hope he is ok. Tho Pacman is a beast.

Sunday is the League final at Stanleys, and I'm on a table with:

Seat 1: Gladys Jarvis
Seat 2: Gimac
Seat 3: Alex "Bintin" Boynton
Seat 4: Jimmy Chipmunk/Davey Stephenson
Seat 5: Me
Seat 6: Paul Hart
Seat 7: Ali
Seat 8: Neil Barron
Seat 9: Peter Collins
Seat 10: Johnny Greek

Suggest some sort of deal so that everyone gets paid but Ali says no. Karma intervenes and he is 1st out. I go out in 7th, completely card dead, and have to steal a lot. I finally get KK and shove over Glady's raise. She calls with AK and rivers the Ace, :-(. I win that I'm pretty sure I am involved in the chop.

Play the Tuesday £500 added £50 game at Stanleys. Out in the 1st level, when I get completely outplayed by Mark Trett who sells me a great story when I have QQ and he has AA. Have to wait another month to have a crack at the best game in town. See my mate Pads take a sick beat when he shoves UTG with KQ and gets called by Carlo Citrone (PRO?!?!?) with Q-10. Board goes 10-9-J, Turn 10, River 9. Sooo sick kid, so sick.

Something else to talk about. Some poker too

Found out about this website, it's hilarious.

http://www.hotchickswithdouchebags.com/

Everyone should check it out, the words are a bit hard to follow with the made up slang and all but a lot of the pics are really funny:

Photobucket

Plus some of the girls are insanely hot and you wander how they get with such guys. Of the ones I have seen I think this is my favourite "HOTT", it's the girl in the white T-shirt, obv (Well, I thought so anyway):

Photobucket

Back to poker, which is not as funny, but nm. I played the last of the forum league games and run really well taking my stack upto 30k (from a 5k starting stack) at the break. Knock ppl out with 8h6h, 5s3s, 5s2s (J1OBLN off the forum) and QQ (not as cool as the rest). Afterwards I'm a little too up and down with my stack, but then this interesting hand comes up:

Cameltoe (Marty Smyth) limps in early position for 2k, Looseman makes it 5k off the button, I call with 9s9c from the SB and MS calls. Flop is As-9h-3h, checked all round, which worries me a little but I can now remove any Ax from Looseman's range. Turn is the 8s, I check, knowing pretty well that MS is a aggressive player and will likely fire, which he does, but Looseman then shoves. I now thank and tell the table I have a decision as most of Loose's range is AA here. Think about 88 or some weirdness and call. He flips over Js10s and I fade the outs.

Get to the FT with healthy chips. A few ppl on the table have seats at stake so playing slightly nervous. A person not involved is down to 4k with blinds at 1.5k-3k. He shoves and after a lot of dead money in too I shove with AdKd. He has QJ and hits a Q. COGB had 66 and would have made quads. A few ppl point out that they wanted him out to secure seats and what was I doing, until I pointed out that I wasn't here to get them seats but try and win the tourney for myself. What could be regarded by some by Karma by some happens when he later beats me a big pot when he hits a set with 5's against my 9's for a good sized pot. I eventually go out in 7th when I lose this pot and a couple of key races. Congratulations to TD for winning the league and I'm sure he'll represent the NPF grandly. Just hopefully with a bit more class than he showed on Friday. Lol, just kidding.

Anyway I'm off to the £50 game at Stanleys, where they add £500. Biggest game of the month. Should have the poker up to date over the next few days.

Monday, 4 May 2009

3 days of poker. Probably should do something else too

Decide to play on Tuesday at Stanners and it gets 30 runners. Not much happens and play 3 hands before the break but get my stack up to 16k. Fizzle out after and end up going to Aspers and play £1-£2 cash. Sit with £60 and run it up to £220ish pretty well. Big hand is where I flop a set of 7s and check raise after a decent bit of money is in the middle. Then lose flush vs. flush. Then a few smaller pots: TPTK vs. set for about £25, 10-10 vs. AK and KQ for about £50 AIPF. I reload another £60. Raise UTG with 42 and 62 and bluff the flop and river and pull it off, and show. Was proud cos I don’t really play like this in 1-2. Didn’t pick any hands but then 2 lads come over from £5-£5 and look just to fuck about. After I payoff 1of them twice, they help me get unstuck and turn a £90 profit. Finished at 7am, lol.

Decide to have some SCA (Sweet Cash Action) at Stanleys on Weds. Start at 8 on a table with me, Varzee, Ridla, Gottilt4 and NRH (A recent addition to the poker scene, seems pretty effective in these games). 2nd hand I run a nice bluff on Varzee. I raise with 2h3h and get a few callers and it comes AJJ, I c-bet and Varzee check raises me. I think that he doesn’t have a Jack, so I shove and he passes A6 (I think). Think the news spreads because this hand comes up:

Raise with AJ UTG, get 4 callers. Flop comes J-3-5, rainbow. Pretty good as I'm only behind a set, hard for someone to have 2 pair. I lead for £8, Russ the Suit shoves for about £18, I call and he has 4c5c. Ship the monies.

Best PP I get all night is 88 and I get AK twice and miss, but what I do have I hit well or my opponents miss and I can take the pot away and I end up about £90. Tubbs, Danutz, Andrizu, Mag1892, Russ the Suit, Roscopiko and GazWalker all dived in and and out of the game at some point.

Went over to the G and just caught the end of the tourney and watched some cash. It was weird to see Mr Chan run bad 1 time. AK vs. KQ, 1st 2 cards out are QQ. AA vs. QQ. 1st card out is Q. He was not happy. Tho this was nothing compared to the heads up of the tournament. A lad I know called Andrew gets it allin on a flop of 10-5-6 with KK, gets called by A-6. 6 on the turn. He has 9-5 vs. 10-7 all in on a 9-8-x flop. Turn is a 10, river J. Nothing compared to the last hand: 10 high flop; he shoves with AA and is called by QJ. I jokingly shout got a 9 on the turn, which comes, followed by an 8 on the river! To make it worse, the other lad celebrates really obnoxiously every time he sucks out. The poor lad just walked round like a zombie, looking completely shell-shocked.

Played the 1st ever NPF heads up tournament on Jokerstars. $5 buy in and I get a bye in Round 1. Apokerlypse is dispatched in round 2 and I fall to Ponca in the quarters when flop bottom 2 on an 8-9-A flop. Turn is 5, River 7. Ponca has A-6. FML. Would really have liked to win the 1st HU tourney.

Trip down to Leeds

Last Saturday of April we went down to Leeds for a game at the Gala. It had £2k added to the prize pool. Not bad for £20 + £20. Went in a car down there with Teamdobbs, Cardguardkid, Jimmy Chipmunk and Mr Crush push, Stevie Sensation. Even in a car with this many talkers, Sensation managed to be the loudest, trying to get into any story and annoying the hell out of every1. I don’t advise any long trips with the Sensh.

Get to the Gala in good time, but find that the restaurant is closed, so we go to a Chinese restaurant, whilst the Sensh went to TGI Friday by himself. I jokingly mention that it was minimally decorated inside the Chinese restaurant and I would like my living room to look the same, as I look round at loads of huge vases and Chinese paintings. We are joined by full tilit (with hair!), playa and his brother Craig. I tuck in to some Scallop Dumplings and really nice special Chow Mein and we are ready to go.

Meet up with Mr and Mrs Stumpy and Sean McGuigan and the tournament is about to start. Also see Apokerlypse and Cazmac. We are in the extension which is nice and light; tho the sun is right on my back. A bit put off that there was no tourney clock and some1 just going round telling us when the blinds are up.

A Crazy game between Man U and Spurs is going on whilst we play. I see my bet going down the drain when Utd go 2 down, but I guess I just had to sweat. 2nd hand I show I not easily bluffed when I call with 44 on a 2-3-8-10-8 board. Villain shows AQ.
Nothing else exciting happens and I manage to double my 5k stack. Take my add on and have 15k. Standard is pretty bad, example is this hand:

Preflop raise and button calls. KcJc9c. C-bet and call. Jh on the turn, bet and a call. River is 2c. Check and a shove by the button for about the pot. After a speech of “I don’t think u have it, I call”, he flips over AK, no clubs. Button shows 8s8c for the flush. Not sure what is worse, the call with 2 pair or the “value” shove with the 8 high flush.

Share war stories with the other NPFers during the break, the “funniest” being the Sensh getting 22k (!) AIPF with JJ at 100/200. Villain has AK and sensh runs so bad.
Get randomly lucky after the break, where I chop a small pot with Aces. Next hand it folds to me in the SB, I raise with A8 to 2k, BB thinks and then raises to 5k, pretty sure he is restealing light, as he seemed a good player, so I shove, thinking he can only call with QQ+ or AK. I was wrong, he calls with KJo and I win. Don’t get those cards and the monster pot if I don’t chop the hand before. A few small pots and QQ vs. AK and when the table breaks I have 55k. Found out that I was playing with Geoff from Eat My Stack, a gentleman who I met at the Pokerplayer Championship that was in Grosvenor in 2007. Really nice guy, great player and kept me entertained with his chat. Also met Mrs Stumpy, who also moves onto my new table.

Moved to a table with CGK, who was short but on form, so the usual banter kicks off and we keep the table entertained. Keep my stack going and then move tables again with 4 tables left. As the clock s brutal, it’s now a shovefest. Really gutted for Mrs Stumpy who goes out in 18th after she is rivered when she has 66 vs. AK. I can’t really make moves, as I have a drunk guy on my left who when I said nice hand after he won the 2nd hand I saw said “Well come and get my chips if you think you’re good enough. And if you think you’re hard enough, we can go outside.” WTF?!?

Anyway down to about 16, I walk over to Stumpy to suggest we pay top 15 as there were 151 runners. I get offered a chance to swap 20% with Stumpy, a player I really rate, and I nearly snap his hand off. The computer can’t restructure the payout so we end up paying 15-11 £100. Get to the FT; unfortunately Stumpy is out in 12th, Straight vs. FH.

I can be quite aggressive in these spots once I feel I should just go for the win and do so, picking up some blinds, which were so important. Lose 35% of my stack when I shove AJ and BB has AQ. Blinds get to 8k-16k, EP raises to 32k, I shove for about 80k more with 99. BB tanks and asks what’s happening, so I say “He raised, I shoved, now hurry the fuck up.” I say it quite calmly but I was getting pissed off at his timewasting. He passes and raiser calls with AQ and I hold up. Take same guy out when he shoves button with AJ and I have KK in the SB.

Guy called Rhino finishes 4th, nice guy, and it seemed one of the few locals with any craic. The fact that the whole rail was NPF shows how great it is and how poor the locals did. 3 handed call a raise with Q-10 and flop comes 8-9-J. Check call all in and the Kerim has AK and weeee.

Big chip lead, but think I was tired and make a crucial mistake. Kerim raises the button, SB calls, I have 88 and flat. Really should have shoved, but I thought Kerim was spewy and might call with just any 2 big cards, so see a flop, which was Q-4-6. Kerim goes all in after blinds check, I call he has Q-10. Next hand I have 12BB and shove A9, he has AJ, and it’s so long and good night. Pretty gutted but proud how I played the whole tourney. Get £1k, not bad for £40. Dealers were all really sound and there is so much value in the tournament and worth a trip down. Also I think CGK may be my lucky driver after I got a lift with him I went to Teesside last year.

Some actual poker

I'll start posting from last week, but will do over a few days as it is quite a lot. I will start with last Friday, 24/04/2009.

I played the league game and made my 1st league FT, but it lasted only 3 hands. Shoved my 9BB stack with Ks3s on the button. Txstrevb had AA in the SB.

Decided to take my £44 and play some 25p/50p cash. Only 1 interesting hand on a tough table which included Ridla, Spoona, Glen, Jimmy Chipmunk and Craig Robinson. I call the double straddle of £2 and it’s raised behind me to £20. Every1 else passes and I say "If I shove, u want to run it twice?", thinking he has AK, so he says ok. He has QQ. I have 5d2d. Flop is 552! And it holds. We chop as he wins the 2nd board.

Suggest that we play some PLO and surprisingly get a full table of action. I lose my 1st load of money, when I get it in with a wrap which I miss. Then see a sick hand where the flop comes 9c-10s-Jc. It goes bet £5,call,pot all in, pot all in for £60, I pass what I think is the nut flush draw as I misread the board thinking it has 2 spades on it. Proudly show my cards to some1 and they must be thinking “WTF?” Back to Odin (Player 1) who calls, then Glen (Player 2) who had initially called, shoves and is called by Odin.

Odin= Jx-10c-9x-8c

Glen= Kx-Qx-X-X

Bo$$hog= Kx-Qc-2c-X

Jimmy Chipmunk= Ac-6c-Jd-9d

Omahaha worked it out that they were all 25% to win the hand. Turn was a brick, River a club, for Jimmy to win a £200+ main pot and Odin to win like a £100+ side pot.

I ended finishing £80 mostly by check raising Odin, the hyper aggressive Norwegian, on the river.

If I do well, I might buy a pair....

A couple of alternative names

Did think of a few but ended up not using them:

1] The blog of a fat, "tanned" and crap Poker player in Newcastle. Too long
2] The terrorist poker guidebook. I thought if some1 was searching for terrorist guidebook and they found this, they would be unhappy.
3] The diary of the "secret" poker player. Thought it was too over-dramatic.

Decided to keep it snappy

A Little Introduction

Hello to anyone actually reading this. My name is Irishimi and I am a someone just dipping my foot into the weird world of blogging. Having seen many great blogs from people I know (Which I will link) I thought I would give it a shot. U might wonder why I don't put my real name on, but I have never "managed" to tell my family that I play poker, as I'm from a Muslim family in Birmingham who see poker as gambling, which they frown upon, even though they go mental with 3 card brag at family functions.

I am a poker player in Newcastle who plays in all the casinos and I love it. Made loads of friends from this.

Anyway, I am going to try and keep this up to date as possible, with things that I think are cool that I have seen and my general poker goings on.

Hope you enjoy!
